How refunds work at Leviate.
This Refund Policy explains how Leviate handles payments, refunds, and payment disputes for campaigns on the platform. It applies to creator-funded campaigns and to any payment processed through the payment provider used by Leviate.
When a campaign closes or is cancelled, Leviate refunds all unused campaign funds to the creator. If work does not pass verification, Leviate gives the contributor an opportunity to correct it. If the work is not corrected and Leviate rejects it, Leviate refunds the full amount assigned to that work to the creator.
1. Payment collection
Payments for funded campaigns are collected at checkout through the payment provider selected by Leviate. The exact payment flow, processing time, and settlement timing will depend on the payment provider, the bank network, and the specific transaction.
2. Unused campaign funds
When a campaign closes or is cancelled, Leviate refunds all unused campaign funds to the creator. The payment provider or banking network may affect when the refund reaches the creator, but not the amount owed.
3. Rejected or failed work
Leviate checks every submission against the brief. If work does not meet the brief, Leviate gives the contributor an opportunity to correct and resubmit it. If the contributor does not correct the work, or the resubmitted work still fails verification, Leviate rejects it. The contributor is not paid for rejected work, and Leviate refunds the full amount assigned to that work to the creator. Creators do not review or approve submissions.
4. Verified work
Once Leviate verifies a submission and releases its payment to the contributor, that payment is final except in cases of duplicate payment, payment error, unauthorized transaction, or fraud. Creators do not review or approve submissions.
5. Cancellations and exceptions
Leviate reviews refund requests involving duplicate charges, mistaken payments, unauthorized transactions, suspected fraud, chargebacks, or other payment errors on their facts. Payment already released for work that passed Leviate’s verification is not refundable unless one of those circumstances applies. This does not affect refunds of unused campaign funds or amounts assigned to rejected work under sections 2 and 3.
6. Chargebacks and disputes
If a creator disputes a payment, or a payment provider flags a transaction as fraudulent or unauthorized, Leviate may investigate the transaction, pause associated payouts, suspend access, or reverse funds where appropriate. Leviate may also report suspected fraud, misuse, criminal activity, or any unlawful conduct to the relevant payment provider, regulator, or other appropriate authority as required by law.
7. Timing
Leviate initiates required refunds after a campaign closes or is cancelled, or after Leviate finally rejects the work. The payment provider or banking network may affect when the funds reach the creator.
8. Governing law and disputes
This policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this policy, payments, refunds, or platform use shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria, and each party agrees to submit to that jurisdiction.
9. Legal rights
This policy does not remove any rights that may apply to you under applicable law. Where a refund or payment dispute is governed by mandatory consumer protection rules, those rules will apply in addition to this policy. Nothing in this policy affects the creator’s right to a refund of all unused campaign funds and the full amount assigned to work that Leviate finally rejects.
